Introduction to Fibreheart PET-GF Filament

Siraya Tech Fibreheart PET-GF is a chopped glass fiber reinforced polyethylene terephthalate (PET) filament specially developed for FDM 3D printing. It features low moisture absorption, high strength, creep resistance, and high heat resistance.

Key Advantages:

  • Uses Siraya Tech's proprietary fiber reinforcement technology to control fiber dispersion, forming a mesh structure that improves mechanical properties, heat resistance, and part dimensional stability with no warping.
  • PET's regular molecular structure and rigid benzene rings provide low creep and better mechanical properties compared to PA and PC.
  • Good dimensional stability during printing with no warping, shrinkage, or odor.
  • Can be annealed to reach even higher HDT.

Annealing Process

Annealing can help PET-GF filament to increase HDT and hardness. It is not a required step and should only be done as needed.

  • To anneal parts made with PET-GF, please place the part in an oven or food dehydrator at 95°C for 4 hours.
  • To help with even heat transfer and maintain consistency, submerge the part in white alumina sand for best results.

Storage and Handling

Although PET-GF has very low moisture absorption, it is still sensitive to humidity. If the material absorbs moisture, print quality will degrade (oozing, bubbles, rough surface).

  • Store unused Siraya Tech Fibreheart filament in sealed packaging with desiccant.
  • Dry filament at 100-120°C for 4-6 hours to restore print quality only if the filament is showing signs of moisture absorption (poor printing surface).
  • Do not dry the filament right after opening the packaging, as Siraya Tech dries all their filaments. Overdrying a dried filament can trigger the annealing process and make the filament unprintable.
