My name is Mark Peng, and I am the founder of Siraya Tech, a leading provider of high-performance materials for the 3D printing community. In this blog, I want to share the origin of Siraya Tech with you—how it reflects my passion for technology and innovation, the dedication of our global team, and my deep respect for my heritage and the Siraya people.
I was born and raised in Taiwan, where I developed a keen interest in technology and engineering from a young age. I moved to the United States as a teenager, pursuing my education and career in mathematics and business. In 2016, I founded Peopoly, a company specializing in SLA 3D printers and accessories, which ultimately paved the way for a new chapter in material science.
The Origin of the Name
During a visit to southern Taiwan, I felt a profound connection to the Siraya people and their unique customs. The Siraya are a Taiwanese indigenous people who settled the flat coastal plains in the southwest part of the island, as well as sections of the east coast. Ethnically and linguistically Austronesian, they hold a special place in history—in fact, the very name "Taiwan" originated from their language.
Despite having a rich culture and history, the Siraya people have faced many challenges and oppressions. As one of the plains indigenous peoples (Pingpu), they have been fighting tirelessly for official recognition and the survival of their cultural heritage.
It was during this trip that I came up with the idea to create a 3D printing material startup focused on professional-grade polymers. It felt right to name our team after this indigenous tribe to honor my heritage. To me, Siraya Tech represents much more than a 3D printing materials company. It is a tribute to cultural heritage, a celebration of diversity, and a reminder that our differences make us unique. We carry the Siraya name to honor their resilience, creativity, and enduring spirit.

But innovation doesn't stand still, and neither do we. As our community's needs evolved, so did our catalog. Today, Siraya Tech is proud to offer a robust line of high-performance FDM filaments. From our advanced Fibreheart family (including PET-CF, PPA-CF, and ABS-GF) to our innovative Roamr high-rebound foaming TPU designed exclusively for footwear, we are bringing the same engineering rigor to the FDM world that we brought to resin.
