3. Installation Instructions
Step 1: Gather Necessary Tools
- Clean gloves
- Phillips or Hex screwdriver (depending on your printer model)
- NFEP Film
- Lint-free cloth
- Isopropyl alcohol
Step 2: Remove the Vat
- Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Carefully remove the resin vat from the printer.
- Drain any remaining resin from the vat and clean it using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
Step 3: Remove the Old FEP Film
- Use the screwdriver to unscrew the frame holding the old FEP film.
- Carefully lift the frame and remove the old FEP film. Dispose of it properly.
Step 4: Install the New NFEP Film
- Place the new NFEP Film on the vat’s bottom, ensuring it is centered.
- Reattach the frame, securing the NFEP Film between the frame and the vat.
- Gradually tighten the screws in a cross pattern to ensure even tension across the film.
- Lightly tap the center of the film; it should produce a tight, drum-like sound. If the tension is uneven, loosen the screws slightly and re-tighten them uniformly.
Step 5: Reassemble the Vat
- Once the NFEP Film is secured and evenly tensioned, reassemble the vat.
- Clean the film surface with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol to remove any fingerprints or dust.
- Reinstall the vat into the printer.
Step 6: Check (optional)
You may want to do a leak check by putting enough water to cover the entire film surface in the vat and leave it there for 30 minutes to see if the vat is working fine.
4. Usage Tips
- Resin Compatibility: NFEP Film is compatible with a wide range of resins, including standard, tough, flexible, and high-temperature resins.
- Cleaning: Always clean the film with isopropyl alcohol after each print to avoid resin build-up and prolong its life.
- Film Lifespan: Regularly inspect the NFEP Film for any signs of wear or damage. Replace the film if it shows excessive scratches or has lost its tension.
- Handling: Handle the film carefully to avoid scratches or punctures that can affect print quality.
5. Safety Precautions
- Protective Gear: Always wear clean gloves when handling the NFEP Film to prevent contamination.
- Avoid Excessive Force: Do not overtighten the screws when securing the film, as this can cause warping or tears.
- Storage: Store unused NFEP Film in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its quality.
6. Troubleshooting
- Uneven Print Surface: Ensure that the NFEP Film is installed with uniform tension. Re-tighten the screws if necessary.
- Poor Print Adhesion: Clean the film thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and ensure the resin is suitable for NFEP Film. Not suitable for laser printers and resins.
- Film Damage: Replace the film immediately if you notice tears or holes, as this can lead to print failures.
