Our Defiant platinum-cure silicone has passed European food-contact safety testing based on Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004.
This update applies to Defiant 10A, 15A, and 25A, adding European test results to our existing FDA-related food-contact documentation.
Now Supported by Both EU and FDA Food Contact Testing
The European testing evaluates substance migration under specified conditions, checks for certain substances, and assesses effects on odor and taste. It references Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004, alongside relevant European requirements and recommendations.
All 12 test categories listed in the report passed.
We now have two food-contact test reports available for review:
- Water-extraction testing in accordance with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600
- European food-contact testing referencing (EC) No. 1935/2004
For food-contact applications, follow our mixing, curing, and cleaning instructions, and make sure the finished mold is suitable for the intended food type, contact time, and temperature.
